The St. James' Episcopal School curriculum is current, interactive, interdisciplinary, and sequential, as it incorporates independent critical thinking with basic skills. Reflecting our diverse student population, our School strives for a multicultural learning environment. In addition, we maintain the academic standards of the mission statement while keeping in mind the developmental needs of children and recognizing that they learn in different ways. Our curriculum encourages a love of learning and recognizes that it is life-long.

The Director of Upper Elementary holds a meeting in October to discuss the secondary school admissions process. Parents of Sixth Graders are also invited to make individual appointments with the Head of School to discuss the admissions process.

Below are links to schools attended by many of our graduates.

Possibilities Unexplored
What might you find at the heart of the jungle?
A dull gleam from a rusted copper knife,
Belonging to a traveler, fumbling in his sleep.
Was he worried about morning,
And where he would go?

What could you find in the deepest cave?
A stone sword, snapped in half,
Owned by an ancient knight who saw too much.
Was it he who broke the sword?
Frank, Sixth Grade
