The St. James' Episcopal School curriculum is current, interactive, interdisciplinary, and sequential, as it incorporates independent critical thinking with basic skills. Reflecting our diverse student population, our School strives for a multicultural learning environment. In addition, we maintain the academic standards of the mission statement while keeping in mind the developmental needs of children and recognizing that they learn in different ways. Our curriculum encourages a love of learning and recognizes that it is life-long.

Listen
Drip splash drip splash
Drops of rain crashing on your neck
It’s wet and cold outside
You’re in the city
The rain does not stop
The clouds have taken over

Drip drop drip drop
Drops of rain crashing on your neck
Windshield wipers on passing cars going
Backward forward backward forward
The rain does not stop
The clouds have taken over

Listen drip listen drop
It’s the comforting sound of the rain
Grace Johnson, Fourth Grade

Chloe Carrere, Fifth Grade

Shadows in the Darkness
Last week, a busy street ahead of me,
Yesterday, the fresh smell of my city,
Last night, the warmth of my bed.

Now, German bombs falling
Today, frightened children wailing
Now, rising terror seeping.

Tomorrow, a journey lies ahead
Next week, warmth turns into coldness
Next month, light becomes darkness
Eugenia Ko, Sixth Grade
