Parents play an integral role in every aspect of our school community. Parental participation in the education process is central to the St. James’ Preschool philosophy of early childhood education. This participation is integral to both the child and the school. As a member of the St. James’ Preschool organization, parental participation is both expected and required.
Parents, as the principal models for their children are viewed as at least equal partners in the school experience, working in tandem with teachers towards a common goal.
St. James’ Preschool offers parents a variety of opportunities to be involved:
- Participating in and supporting daily classroom activities
- Serving on various committees
- Working to improve the school's physical appearance
- Attending parents' meetings and seminars
- Participating in special events and celebrations
Our program recognizes that a strong partnership between family and school enhances a child’s educational experience. Research suggests that children whose families play an active role in their education learn better. There is a clear relationship to both the quality of the cognitive process as well as to a better emotional and psychological relationship with the learning process. As a parent, your role is crucial. You and your child will predictably have a better experience with the educational process if you are actively involved at school.

St. James' Preschool respects your privacy.
