The Parent Support Fellowship (PSF) provides various opportunities for current parents to volunteer their time and talents to St. James’ School. We also request that members of the St. James’ community -- alumni, parents, grandparents, foundations, corporations, faculty, staff, parishioners, and other friends – support St. James’ School by giving of their treasure. This ensures that we can continue to provide a world-class education not only for our children, but also for our children’s children. To ensure a diverse student base, St. James’ Episcopal School makes every effort to keep tuition affordable. However, tuition does not cover the full cost of educating each student. The remainder is raised through fundraising campaigns and events, such as Annual Giving.

The Goal of Annual Giving
The goal of the Annual Giving 2008-2009 is to achieve 100% participation from the Board, current parents, staff, and faculty. The School also encourages gifts from alumni, grandparents, friends, foundations, and members of St. James’ Episcopal Church. We ask that each family give generously, according to their means.

Why Should I Give to St. James’ Episcopal School?
Your gift is essential to the fiscal health of St. James’ Episcopal School. It enables us to:

Bridge the difference between tuition and the cost of educating each child.

Keep tuition affordable, ensuring that the student body remains economically diverse.

Keep teachers’ salaries competitive, ensuring that we hire and retain the best faculty who can cultivate our students’ passion for learning.

Provide ongoing professional training for our faculty and staff.

Arrange special programs and assemblies for the children.

Remain cutting-edge in terms of technology to prepare our students for the challenges of further schooling and daily living.

Cash gifts (cash, check, or credit card) to St. James’ Episcopal School are deductible for income tax purposes to the full extent of the law.

When Should I Give?
To help us budget our operating costs for the current school year, we ask that you make a pledge to Annual Giving 2008-2009 by December 31, 2008. You may make the payment any time until the end of our fiscal year on June 30, 2009.

How Much Should I Give?
Your gift of any amount will make a difference in the community of St. James’ and we appreciate your generosity. The following levels of giving will be recognized in the Annual Report unless you clearly specify that you would like your gift to be anonymous.

Founders' Circle		$5,000- $9,999
Challengers' Club		$3,000-$4,999
Husky Club		$2,000-$2,999
St. James’ Club		$1,000-$1,999

Matching Gifts
Many corporations support independent schools through matching gifts, effectively doubling the value of your gift. We encourage you to check with your employer.



St. James’ Episcopal School accepts planned or deferred gifts through life insurance, charitable trusts, or bequests. A donor may wish to consider these gift vehicles as a way to reduce estate and inheritance taxes. We recommend that you contact your Accountant for further information.

The St. James' Episcopal School Endowment will provide financial support for the School in perpetuity. Revenue from the endowment will allow us to maintain economic diversity in our student body by providing additional tuition assistance, to attract and retain excellent faculty and staff by providing ongoing professional development, and to preserve our current campus by ensuring regular, preventive maintenance of our facilities.
