Narnia, Terabithia, and wherever those wild things are – these are just a few of the places students can visit on a trip to the St. James’ Library. In its colorful and quiet interior, timeless classics share the shelves with modern literary gems, and young learners cultivate research skills and a love of reading.
The Library is a rich learning environment in which students delve into essential works of children’s literature, extend their core academic learning through research, and study independently or with peers in a quiet atmosphere. The Library itself is a beautifully maintained facility housing a large collection of books to check out, including a wide variety of both fiction and nonfiction. The Library hosts book fairs, author visits, and Work Study (for elementary students), Monday - Thursday after school.
Working in the Library, students learn the value of respect for library materials and the learning environment; develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world through exploring literature; and become inspired to read, write, imagine, and create.
