- Speech Contest Coaches Needed

Are you an experienced voice artist, performer, or director? Are you interested in coaching a few 6th graders for the annual Speech Contest?

Each volunteer will be assigned 2-4 students to assist with memorization, dramatization, and rehearsals of their classic poems. Volunteers must have availability during school hours for multiple days over the next six weeks. Volunteers may not be related to any student in the Class of 2017. To volunteer, or for more information, email 6th Grade Teacher Ms. Rodgers.

- Lovable Labels

With summer vacation and summer camps just around the corner, we want to remind you about Lovable Labels. They are extremely helpful for making sure your children's clothes do not get lost to the abyss of lost and founds! As an added benefit when you order here: StJames.lovablelabels.ca 20% of the sale benefits the St. James' Parent Association.

- Representing Team USA

Congrats to Amy in the fourth grade who will be representing Team USA in Tennis next week at the United States Tennis Association Development Camp next week. Amy is ranked #9 in the country, the youngest player under the age of ten. We will miss her on the Sacramento trip but could not be more proud to have St. James' represented there. We know you will do a great job - Go Amy!

- New Drumset

The St. James School has a new drum set thanks to the donation of Colton McPherson and his family.  Colton had noticed that the band was in need of a drum kit and he made it his mission to raise funds from an organized hiking trip in Griffith Park to purchase one for the school.   Mrs. Cartagena and the band are very thankful for this generous donation. Way to go Colton!

- Father Rowins Scholarship Fund

The Father Rowins Scholarship Fund was originally created to help provide financial support for current St. James’ families who have fallen on difficult times financially. Whether a spouse has lost his/her job, or their business has closed, or a family has suffered other financial hardships, these one-time gifts of financial support help St. James’ families continue attending the school. Current St. James’ families are encouraged to apply for a gift from the Father Rowins Fund. If you have received a scholarship gift from the Father Rowins Fund in the past, you are not eligible to apply. If you are applying for Tuition Assistance from St. James’ for the 2017-2018 school year, please contact Najah Lowe (nlowe@sjsla.org) in the Business Office to discuss your eligibility to apply for scholarship fund support.
