- Father Rowins Scholarship
The Father Rowins Scholarship Fund was originally created to help provide financial support for current St. James’ families who have fallen on difficult times financially. Whether a spouse has lost his/her job, or their business has closed, or a family has suffered other financial hardships, these one-time gifts of financial support help St. James’ families continue attending the school. Current St. James’ families are encouraged to apply for a gift from the Father Rowins Fund. If you have received a scholarship gift from the Father Rowins Fund in the past, you are not eligible to apply. If you are applying for Tuition Assistance from St. James’ for the 2018-2019 school year, please contact Najah Lowe (NLowe@SJSLA.org) in the Business Office to discuss your eligibility to apply for scholarship fund support.
Please complete the application (download here) and return it to the front desk lock box by the close of business on Friday, May 11th.
If you have any questions, please contact Najah Lowe (NLowe@SJSLA.org).
- SoCal POCIS
SoCalPOCIS is an organization which supports teachers, administrators, parents, and students who believe that diversity and multiculturalism are endemic to quality education for all. SoCalPOCIS holds a number of events throughout the year, including Parent Voices, which gives parents from various independent schools an opportunity to share their experiences as well as their interests in partnering with our schools in meaningful ways.
The next Parent Voices event will be held at Westside Neighborhood School on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10am-1pm. Attendees will learn about effective ways to partner with their independent school communities and gain strategies for navigating the unique complexities of the independent school cultures.
