- Backpack Collection

Are you a student counting down the days to summer vacation?

Getting ready to victoriously dispose of your old backpacks in celebration of a great year and in anticipation of new things in the fall? Please consider donating your used backpack to our St. James' Food ministry friends who could really use them over the summer!

- Summer Classes with Mr. Friedman

Sketch, draw from nature and pursue art activities that engage and stretch young artists’ imagination while they skill build and explore creative self-expression. Watercolor, collage, charcoal and mixed media, etc. will be explored. Held within a beautiful park setting, the summer outdoor class is a great time for fun and in-depth art experimentation. Students are encouraged to pursue their artistic passions.

As this class is a full day of art making and activities, it may be more suited for older students in grade 3 and above. However, if there is interest, I could also offer a shorter class more geared to younger students.

Location: Griffith Park (next to Shane's Inspiration Playground)

Duration: 5 days (Begin on Mondays- End on Fridays)

Times: 10-3pm (25 hours) Classes will include breaks for lunch and a snack/play time. Students must bring their own lunch/snacks.

Week One (June 18th - June 22nd)

Week Two (June 25th - June 29th)

Week Three (August 13th – August 17th)

Week Four (August 20th – August 24th)

I have received permission from Griffith Park. If there is interest beyond ten students for a particular week, I will open another class during another week.

Please email me at if you are interested ASAP but no later than June 13th, with the dates you are interested in. Before the end of the school year, I will send out an email to confirm that the class(es) your family is interested in is (are) confirmed to run.
