Our Buddy Program kicked off this week. Pictured above is our first and fourth graders meeting their class buddies for the 18-19 school year. The buddy system between grades (K-5th; 1st-4th; 2nd-3rd) is just one of the many ways St. James' builds a cohesive community where all students feel bonded school-wide. This helps foster their identity as citizens interconnected with the well-being of all the other students at St. James'. See more photos here.
The Communications Office stopped by Mr. Dar’s class in the closing minutes of the day on Wednesday. We observed the class helping each other distribute the right homework in the right folders and making sure they were fully prepared for the next day. These organizational habits help to lay the groundwork not only for success the next day but help students think ahead for how to be prepared for what is next.
At the Preschool this week some of our Kindergarten Readiness students helped bake their own snacks! Activities like baking help to incorporate the motor skills, teamwork, and cooperation under development at this age. In addition to eating their work, they are being introduced to measurements and weights and other math skills that will be built upon at the K-6 campus. See more photos of this week in the Preschool.
